Yeezy is looking to expand into the car industry as he recently revealed the well-known sneaker designer, Steven Smith, as the Head of Donda Industrial Design. The creative will be working on furniture design and the first Yeezy car along with footwear.
Yeezy announces car “Donda Foam Vehicle”:
Finally, on July 5th, a Donda Foam Vehicle concept was unveiled with a statement that read, ”Donda Foam Vehicle, Conceptualized, Designed, Manufactured in the United States, Amen.” The vehicle has tank-like features with oversized wheels. The prototype represents the Sheep machines that Ye was known to drive at his Wyoming Ranch.
Kanye and Elon Teaming Up?
Hypebeast predicts that Yeezy’s new product could be manufactured with Tesla’s. Because of the close relationship Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla) and Kanye already have.
In an interview with Complex, Steven Smith mentioned, I’m honored to help create our shared vision of the future,” and added, “Mr. West is the single most inspiring creative I have ever worked with.”
The two legends have been working together since 2016. Smith has worked as a designer with popular brands. These brands include Reebok, Adidas, Nike and New Balance over the past 40 years.
Kanye just getting started:
Finally, aside from all his musical success, Kanye has been deliberately expanding in the entrepreneurial world for the several years. Along with many other endeavors, Yeezy is also planning on making a name for himself in the education space. Donda Academy prep school in California is a high school Kanye built.
