In the closing moments of Rolling Loud Miami, Kendrick Lamar received a helping hand from Kodak Black.
As a special guest during his headlining set at Hard Rock Stadium on the final day of the annual Hip Hop festival, the Compton native brought out “Super Gremlin” rapper Kodak Black.
Kendrick and Kodak Shut It Down:
This was the first time they collaborated on Kendrick’s latest album ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ “Silent Hill.”
“Make some noise for my muthafucking n-gga. Kodak muthafucking Black,” Kendrick instructed the crowd as he embraced Kodak following the duet. “Love, love, love,” the local rapper replied.
Earlier that evening, Kodak Black performed a solo set on the main stage at Rolling Loud Miami. Due to his recent drug trafficking arrest, for which he was placed on house arrest, the 25-year-old was forced to wear a GPS ankle monitor while performing.
Kendrick Performes His Classics:
Kendrick Lamar also performed familiar favorites from ‘good kid’, ‘m.A.A.d city’, ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’, and ‘DAMN’ during his headlining set.
He also performed a hit collaboration from Baby Keem’s 2021 debut album ‘The Melodic Blue’ with his cousin and fellow pgLang representative Baby Keem.
In Oklahoma City last week, Kendrick started his Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers Tour. On July 27th, the tour continues with a performance in Tampa, Florida.
Kendrick’s show escaped the crowd disturbances that plagued Kid Cudi’s headlining performance on July 22nd. Having been pelted by objects while on stage, the Clevelander stormed off late in the performance. Cudi was chosen as a last-minute replacement for Kanye West.
Travis Scott was a surprise guest at Rolling Loud July 23rd. Despite rumors he had been banned after 10 people died at his Astroworld Festival in Houston in November.
