The headlining set by Future on July 23rd featured a number of surprises, but none more notable than Travis Scott.
At Future’s request, Scott performed “March Madness” with Future during his set, which was produced by Southside Records.
Future Brings Out Travis Scott:
In November 2021, Scott’s Astroworld Festival claimed the lives of 10 people, leading to speculation that his absence was why Kanye West withdrew from Rolling Loud on Friday (July 22). Rather than ignoring Scott, Rolling Loud welcomed him back with open arms on Saturday as Future urged him to continue performing.
Rolling Loud even called for Travis Scott to be the headliner, but the plans fell apart.
“We reached out to Travis to headline Rolling Loud, but it couldn’t work in such a short time,” said a Rolling Loud executive. “This had nothing to do with any restrictions from the hosting venue Hard Rock Stadium.”
2019 Incident:
Despite Scott’s return for Rolling Loud, he still faces a potential lawsuit from what happened at the 2019 festival.
Marchelle Love claims Scott was aware of the stampede that was happening during his 2019 set but failed to stop it. Scott ignored multiple warnings from local police and venue security regarding rowdy concertgoers, according to TMZ documents. There were tramples and deaths among the crowd during the stampede that broke Love’s leg.
The first two days of Rolling Loud Miami 2022 have been eventful. Despite pulling out of his headlining set on Friday, Kanye ended up performing “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” with Lil Durk.
