Usher made his 52nd Billboard Hot 100 appearance on July 16th, with ‘Good Love’ with rap duo City Girls debuting at No. 70.

The Lathun-sampled party anthem was the 8x Grammy winners first entry since October 2019. His self-influenced track ‘Come Thru’ produced by Summer Walker, debuted at No. 42. Usher previously had a 20-week run with Chris Brown’s Heartbreak on a Full Moon cut “Party” with Gucci Mane in 2017. In February 2017, it reached No. 40.

Since Usher’s Billboard Hot 100 debut with ‘Can U Get Wit It’ in September 1994, Usher has had nine songs reach Billboard number one, including ‘U Got It Bad’, ‘OMG’ and ‘will.i.am’.

Usher currently holds the record for the most Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s in a calendar year by a male R&B soloist, with four. He achieved this feat 2004 with songs from his chart-topping album ‘Confessions’. ‘Yeah’, featuring Ludacris and Lil Job, ‘My Boo,’ ‘Confessions Pt. II,’ and ‘Burn’ are among the tracks included.

‘Confessions’, the Grammy-winning, diamond-certified album, re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 198 last week. Following this appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk for Black Music Month.

Usher’s Performance improved his Streaming Numbers:

The viral performance resulted in a significant increase in streams for “Superstar” and “Confessions Pt. II,” both of which appeared on Confessions. The former track saw a 238 percent increase in streams, while the latter saw a 48 percent decrease.

Returning to “Good Love”, the Mr. Hanky-produced track has received over 1.9M Spotify streams since its July 1 release. Daps directed the accompanying video, which was released the same day.

A New Usher Record is On the Way:

Usher gave People’s Mark Gray an update on his long-awaited ninth album in March. “I’m going to release an album this year, hopefully” he said, “but now it’s just a matter of timing, and what the name of the album is, and all of that.” The untitled album will be Usher’s follow-up to Hard II Love, which was released in 2016.

On June 12, Usher’s sixth proper album, ‘Looking 4 Myself’, celebrated its tenth anniversary . Keithan Samuel of Rated R&B gathered commentary from key players like Rico Love, Luke Steele, Eric Bellinger, and others to reminisce on studio sessions and share their thought on how the album has aged.

Usher will relaunch his Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM on July 15. The second leg will last until October 29.

He’ll sing his signature songs as well as some of his more recent hits, such as ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ with Ella Mai and “Bad Habits.” He could invite Mary J. Blige to perform their new duet ‘Need Love,’ from her album Good Morning Gorgeous. Tickets for Usher’s new Las Vegas residency are now on sale.
