Earlier this week Atlanta Rapper Sergio Kitchens, professionally known as Gunna was denied bail. The Judge claims Gunna is posing a threat to the public and possibly intimidating a witness if released on bond. According to WSB-TV Gunna will remain in custody until his trial in January 2023.
Other Allegations:
Other allegations against the rapper include a recent incident on May 14th when a nurse was caught attempting to smuggle a bag of marijuana and cocaine into the Fulton County Jail intended for Gunna. When confronted by a deputy the nurse immediately dropped the bag and fled. On July 7th prosecutors used this incident to persuade the judge to deny the rapper bail, further extending his stay behind bars. Gunna’s attorney has since claimed the allegations were false but as of now, it isn’t looking good for the rapper.
Gunna is not the only one who has been denied bond. Young Thug has been denied bond as well twice. It is looking like both Young Thug and Gunna will be in jail until their trial date. The trial date is set for Jan. 2023.
July 7th marks the second time the rapper’s request has been denied. The decision took place during a virtual court appearance in relation to the gang indictment that named more than 25 people, including fellow Atlanta rapper and alleged YSL (Young Slime Life) member Young Thug.
