Rising Star Jayywoodz: Music, Legacy, and the Power of Perseverance

At the heart of New York’s independent music scene is 23-year-old artist Jayywoodz, who, despite adversity, continues to captivate listeners with his eclectic mix of hip-hop, dancehall drill, lo-fi, and Philly beats. Listen to his latest work on Spotify and follow his journey on Instagram.

From Brotherly Duo to Solo Act

Jayywoodz started making music with his brother, dxttyy. Together, they created a musical duo that produced a unique blend of genres and styles. Their collaboration led to the creation of their dancehall hit, “No Trust,” which garnered over 90,000 plays without any video or paid promotion. However, with the untimely passing of dxttyy, Jayywoodz has now embarked on a solo journey.

“I’ve always looked up to my brother dxttyy. We were each other’s inspiration. From clothes to music, we did everything together. But his passing changed my life forever. Now, my mission is to continue pushing his/our story. It’s DXTTYYZ WORLD,” Jayywoodz shares with a note of solemn dedication.

The Legacy and the Angel Numbers

In honor of his brother, Jayywoodz has chosen to incorporate the angel numbers 2423 into his music and branding. These numbers, often seen as symbols of spiritual guidance, also happen to be his brother’s angel numbers. Through his music, he seeks to inspire his listeners to feel the love of art, fashion, and music.

Jayywoodz admits, “The culture of hip-hop influences my music, but I never let it dictate my authenticity. My lyrics are based on my personal experiences, including growing up listening to artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, Chris Brown, and more.”

Overcoming Adversity and Future Plans

The path to success has not been smooth for Jayywoodz. He’s faced countless challenges, including sleepless nights and personal loss. Yet, through it all, his resilience shines through. He’s determined to make the world familiar with the name “DXTTYY.”

Jayywoodz is currently working on a project that encapsulates his feelings in the wake of his brother’s passing. The upcoming track, titled “No More,” filmed in San Juan, Puerto Rico, promises to give a tropical pain feeling. More updates about this project can be found on his Instagram account, @realjayywoodz.

In the future, Jayywoodz plans to collaborate with more artists and clothing brands, but above all, his ultimate goal is to share his and his brother’s story to inspire others around the world.

Jayywoodz is a testament to the power of perseverance. He concludes, “I’m here to stay, and one thing about me is I never gave up. I’m putting my all into this, and I want you guys to know I’m here to win!”
