When people debate the greatest diss tracks in the history of hip-hop, one tends to come up more than any other track, Ice Cube’s 1991 attack on his former N.W.A. members: “No Vaseline”.
Ice Cube Did What?!
The lengthiness of the song, reaching over five minutes, shows Ice Cube’s relentlessness. Naming people like Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Mc Ren, DJ Yella and Jerry Heller, the manager of the group. Heller was known for his suspicious style of business which did not sit well with Cube.
To aid in picturing his departure from the group, Ice Cube spit: “Lookin’ like straight Bozos. I saw it comin’ that’s why I went solo.” “And kept on stompin’ / When y’all motherf*ckers moved straight outta Compton,” he continues.
Ice Cube then calls out people he’s collaborated with in the past, saying: “Ay yo Dre, stick to producin’. Eazy-E saw your ass and went in it quick. You little maggot, Eazy-E turned f*ggot,” among others.
XXL Magazine’s Twitter asked people to debate the best diss track in hip-hop of all time and the response that Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” was inarguably the greatest, began to trend.
Immediately fans flooded the replies saying things like “No Vasaline is the only right answer. He went for all the blood and basically destroyed what was left of NWA.” One fan summed it all up saying “everybody saying No Vasaline is absolutely correct.” See some more fan tweets below:

"No Vaseline" and it's not even close. Not trying to take anything away from tracks like "Hit Em Up", "Ether"**, "Story of Adidon", or "Killshot", but — "No Vaseline" is one dude coming for four dudes, and he =annihilated= them. https://t.co/LLTUfb5D3b
