Rihanna: Youngest Self-Made Female Billionaire At 34

Rihanna was included on Forbes annual list of America’s wealthiest self-made women for a third consecutive year. It is the first time a billionaire woman has made the list under 40, making her the youngest woman to ever do so. Rihanna landed at No. 21 with a net worth of $1.4 billion. Rihanna made history by becoming the youngest self-made women billionaire.

Three retail companies make her fortunes:

The majority of her income comes from her three retail companies: Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage X Fenty. It was reported by MSNBC that Savage X Fenty was working with advisors on an IPO that could be valued at $3 billion. In addition to owning 30 percent of that company, she also owns half of Fenty Beauty. This company earned over $550 million in sales last year.

As Rihanna revealed in a 2019 interview with the New York Times T Magazine, her massive fortune was essentially an accident. She said that reaching financial milestones was “not going to stop me from working”.

Furthermore, she stated, “My money is not for me; it’s always the thought that I can help someone else. The world can really make you believe that the wrong things are priority. And it makes you really miss the core of life, what it means to be alive”.

Who else made the list?

Rihanna is in the ranks of some other very high level self-made women. The youngest on the list is Kylie Jenner at $600 million. Some other self-made women on the list are Taylor Swift ($570 million), Beyonce ($450 million), Kim Kardashian ($1.8 billion), Serena Williams ($260 million), and Sandra Bullock ($225 million).
