Rapper Post Malone recently put his love of playing video games to a good cause, as he donates over $200,000 for charity.
Gaming For A Cause
The Twelve Carat Toothache singer played Apex Legends on Twitch to raise money for Human Rights Watch, Project HOPE, United Way and The Trevor Project.
Over the course of his nine-hour Twitch stream, Malone attracted roughly 52,871 viewers. After raising more than his original goal of $50,000, he attempted to do a backflip to celebrate.
“I said that I would say I’ll attempt a backflip,” Malone said on the stream. “This floor is mad hard in here y’all. … alright, alright.”
After failing to successfully land a backflip, Malone asked his viewers to share their thoughts.
“Did I do it?” he said. “Was it close? Did it look crazy on stream at least? … honestly that was kinda crazy.”
Malone’s final Twitch stream was a 60-person tournament on a private server on July 22nd, raising $76,026 in donations.
Post Malone raised over $196,000 in four nights with his stream and donations, including $40,000 from Respawn Entertainment. The donation from Respawn Entertainment took the total well past $200,000.
