Kenneth Petty is better known as Nicki Minaj’s husband was arrested in March of 2020 by the United States Marshalls for failing to register as a sex offender in the State of California.
CBS News reported on July 6th, Petty’s case was resolved in a Los Angeles courtroom when a judge slapped him with three years probation and a year of home detention.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Petty was also ordered to pay a $55,000 fine as part of his sentence. Prosecutors are likely frustrated by the outcome of the case. The couple’s massive Calabasas home is located in a gated community. The house includes a pool, state-of-the-art music studio, and a luxurious backyard. In some people’s eyes, this doesn’t look like a punishment. Instead, they wanted Petty hit with 15 months in prison, five years supervised release, and the $55,000 in retribution.

However, court documents state Petty kept up with his sex offender registry paperwork for nearly two decades. But once he rekindled his relationship with Nicki in 2019 and moved to California. “The defendant adopted an affluent lifestyle and stopped checking in”.

Petty ultimately served over four years in prison for the attempted rape charge in 1995 at age 16. Finally, as part of his release, he had to register as a sex offender anywhere he goes.
