The houston-based musical duo, G Runnaz, consisting of two brothers Tu Cool and Da Sgt, started writing and creating music at the ages of 4 and 6. After a few bumps in the road, their love and passion for music resurfaced, leading them to where they are today. They’ve been in the industry for about 10-12 years and are currently working on an EP and album set to be released this year, with their single “Back 2 da hustle” and music video available on all platforms.
The duo is independent and works with a variety of producers, including Solo, Mr. Lee, Joe Lee, Muhammad 2G, and Beats by Any Means. They are set to release a new single and music video called “Like A G” in February or March.
When asked about what they want their listeners to take away from their music, the duo expressed their desire to provide games and knowledge in their verses. They have a strong work ethic and believe in all work and no play, as seen in their daily routine.
Despite the challenges brought on by COVID-19, the duo viewed it as a positive experience, allowing them to focus on the business side of music and come back harder and smarter. Their biggest accomplishment is the fact that through all the obstacles, they still managed to put a few projects together, leading them to realize what they could do by simply continuing to move forward.
Originating from 5th Ward, Texas, on the NW side 290/Hwy6, the duo is inspired by each other and wishes to work with 50 Cent. In a year from now, they plan to be a household name, especially in their city and will continue grinding and staying on their hustle for the long run. Their next move is to keep applying pressure and gaining momentum by dropping audio and visuals for their upcoming projects.
