In recent days, Nelly and Ashanti have once again been spotted together on stage. The last time was on the Verzuz stage when Fat Joe and Ja Rule went toe-to-toe. Following Irv Gotti and Ja’s appearance on Drink Champs much has been said about this former couple. Hip Hop fans and contributors recently relived the purported romance between Murder Inc’s boss and a hitmaker. Gotti’s public comments on the decades-old romance weren’t welcomed by everyone.
Fat Joe recently came forward to address his distaste for Irv for calling Ashanti a “b*tch” and for speaking about the intimate details of their private life. Nelly and Ashanti also appeared at a recent concert after Irv’s remarks.
The Back Story:
It was thought that Nelly and Ashanti would be together for life, but they parted ways after dating for over a decade. According to Irv, he discovered Nelly and Ashanti’s relationship while watching a basketball game because of the havoc created when they showed up together. At the time he claims that he was “Still in love with her.”
Nelly brought out Ashanti to perform their collaboration “Body on Me,” at his recent performance. In the midst of it Nelly added a mention that many interpreted to be a verbal jab at Gotti.
