Kid Cudi connection with Kanye West:
Kid Cudi’s debut album ‘A Kid Named Cudi’, was released through Fool’s Gold and 10.Deep. In conjunction with Jay-Z’s ‘The Blueprint 3’ and Kanye West’s ‘808s & Heartbreak,’ the album’s lead single ‘Day N Nite’ gathered an impressive amount of attention online. He was later invited to Hawaii for the recording of 808s & Heartbreak and Jay-Z’s ‘Day N Nite’.
As soon as Cudi’s debut album ‘Man on the Moon: The End of Day’ was released, he signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. He established himself as a cult hero in the Hip Hop community.
“Even though it was a mixtape and a lot of the beats we used were revamps of existing songs. Cudi’s take on everything was so fresh that it felt like an album”. Producer Emile Haynie stated on the 10 year anniversary in 2018. “I knew he was going to change things and I was so happy to be along for it. We went on to make two more full albums together, but ‘A Kid Named Cudi’ is the one I look back on with most fondness”.
