Kendrick’s New Album Projected to be Huge

The long wait for Kendrick’s new album is nearly done. The MC announced the follow-up album called Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers earlier this month. The highly anticipated album is set to debut on May 13th. Three weeks away, HitsDailyDouble is already estimating how many units it will sell during the first week of its launch.

Kendrick’s New Album Projection

As per a Twitter post by Chart Data, not only will Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers make their debut at number 1 on the Billboard 200, it will sell more than 350,000 album-equivalent units on its first day of release. Of course, these are all projections, but it is looking suitable for Kendrick. Check out the tweet below.

DAMN.was released in 2017 and was ranked the No. 1. Billboard 200 with over 603,000 equivalent album units sold within its initial week after its release. It was his third consecutive album, following 2015’s To Pimp A Butterfly and 2016’s Untitled Unmastered to be released in the top position.

The following week the album that won the Pulitzer Prize was ranked at the top of the charts. It had a total of 238,000 equivalent units. The album enjoyed dominance on the charts into week 3 with 173,000 total album-equivalent units. It was certified as 3x platinum in April of 2018.

Top Dawg Entertainment will release Kendrick Lamar’s last album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, which the artist announced last August via his website.

Kendrick Reflects on his Work

Kendrick Lamar takes time to perfect his albums. He spends most of his days with his feelings and thoughts. This brings out his best work for his fans to feel the most connected. Kendrick also states that he goes months without a phone. He lets the world evolve around him while reflecting on what is most important to him.

This will be Kendrick Lamars final TDE album. He is forever grateful for the last 17 years to be a part of such a cultural imprint. There were struggles and successes, but most importantly, he is leaving with a brotherhood. He states, “There is beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.”

Stay tuned for Kendrick’s new album to drop on May 13th.
