Kendrick Lamar Emphasizes Vision for Legacy He Wants to Leave

Kendrick Lamar Talks About His Desired Impact

Kendrick Lamar has been one of the most influential figures in today’s Hip Hop world, but just recently he gave his input on the legacy he wants. He had an interview with Jazzy’s World TV at Rolling Loud Miami on July 24th, and mentioned the vision he has with his music.

Kendrick mentioned, “Really just an impact to inspire people and always showing them that the duality of life is not such a bad thing. We go through so many volatile situations where we don’t really know how to connect or communicate how we feel so through my music, I wanna make sure that’s the legacy; showing people how to communicate and it’s OK, you know, if you’re not perfect. It’s about accepting the beauty of imperfection.”

How The Rapper Influences His Supporters

Currently on tour after his recent drop (Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers), the Compton native recently did a show in Houston. In a clip shared online, you can see the impact the legend has on his fans. A security guard was caught crying and rapping along to “LOVE,” a single of Kendrick’s album DAMN.

Kendrick Lamar Talks About Fan’s Reaction

During the same interview, the MC acknowledged this video and spoke about his feelings toward it. He said, “It’s really just about the feeling of it at the end of the day. Past all the politics, past all the numbers. It’s what music makes you feel, how it makes you feel. So to see that … And shout-out to him by the way because I seen him, bro. I was like, man, I wonder what he going through? But at the end of the day that’s how you want everybody to perceive your music.”

The MC’s Tour

Kendrick’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers Tour continues this week in New Orleans and will go until mid December.
