Just months after being released from jail after serving seven months on firearm charges, rapper JayDaYoungan has passed away from gunshot injuries. The 24 year old rapper, real name Javorius Scott was shot along with his father Kenyatta Scott Sr.
JayDaYoungan’s Final Hours
The Louisiana native had made headlines in recent years due to his buzz in the music industry as well as frequent run-ins with the law. It was reported Wednesday (July 27th) that he and his father were victims of a shooting in their hometown. Details surrounding the shooting are scarce at the moment.
The Bogalusa Police Department released a statement regarding the shooting.
“We can now identify the victims as Javorius Scott, A.K.A. JayDaYoungan and close family member Kenyatta Scott Sr,” Bogalusa PD wrote. “We can also confirm that Javorius Scott has died as a result of his injuries. Kenyatta Scott Sr. has been transported to another facility and we have been told he is in stable condition.”

JayDaYoungan’s fans have taken to social media to grieve the star. Youngan’s team however, has yet to speak on the incident. More information regarding the rapper’s father’s condition has yet to be shared. Well wishes and prayers have been pouring in since the news broke and condolences for his family have been extended by both fans and fellow artists and past collaborators.
