Proud of his new milestone, the Brooklyn native shared the screenshotted conversation where Kanye congratulated him on headlining Hot 97’s Summer Jam this past Sunday on his Instagram story.
Fivio Foreign showed his appreciation via the caption showing the texts from Kanye, “I appreciate big bro so much son.. y’all don’t even know.”
Kanye Compares Fivio to Jay-Z
Kanye and Fivio’s first creative collaboration was on Kanye’s Donda album, where they traded verses on “Ok Ok” and “Off The Grid”. More recently, Kanye graced Fivio’s album B.I.B.L.E. where he was featured on “City of Gods”. Ye shared with Fivio how impressed and fond of his creative prowess he was by comparing Fivio to Jay-Z. Needless to say, that’s quite the compliment coming from Kanye.
“I go Ye, who I remind you of? Who I remind you of?” Fivio shared with the L.A. Leakers. “He like, ‘I don’t know, that’s a good question.’ The question went past so I guess we start eating or whatever. Then something hit him. He go, ‘I got it! Hov!’ I’m like, ‘Word? Hov?’ He say, ‘Hov!'”
