In preparation for October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour, Drake has revealed the lineup for his All Canadian North Stars concert.
The event will feature a slew of pioneering Canadian acts who Drake says, “paved the way for all of us.”
Among the artists performing are Canuck Hip Hop legends like Kardinal Offishall, Saukrates, k-os, Choclair and Maestro Fresh Wes. In addition, R&B stars, such as Glenn Lewis, Jully Black and In Essence.
HISTORY, the state-of-the-art Toronto venue opened by Drake and Live Nation Canada last November, will host the concert on Thursday (July 28). Ticketmaster will sell tickets starting at noon ET on Tuesday (July 26).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Drake’s annual OVO Fest has been on hiatus since 2019. The October World Weekend: Road to OVO Fest Tour marks the 10th edition of the festival.
Continuing the weekend on Friday (July 29), Chris Brown and Lil Baby will perform at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage.
Drake will be joined by Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj on Monday (August 1) for the final Young Money reunion. They last performed together in New York City at the 2014 Hot 97 Summer Jam.
Drake announced earlier this month he will be “currently working on bringing OVO FEST around the world in 2023 for the 10th Anniversary.”
Fans can expect more new music from Drake during October World Weekend, including a performance of his latest album Honestly, Nevermind.
Beyoncé’s forthcoming seventh album Renaissance includes many A-list names, including the OVO Sound hitmaker. Drake is listed among the songwriters of track number 11, “Heated,” alongside Boi-1da, Jahaan Sweet, Sevn Thomas, and Neenyo.
