Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti” Could Break Billboard Records

Un Verano Sin Ti, Bad Bunny’s surprise 23-track release, is proving to be the album of the summer. Following in the footsteps of Drake’s Views, the Latin rap project has been on constant rotation.

When Brent Faiyaz released his Wasteland album earlier this month, it was expected that he would take the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. He finished second to Bunny, whose fourth studio album was released on May 6th.

The upcoming Billboard 200 chart for July 30th reveals that Un Verano Sin Ti has reclaimed its top spot. The album sold 103K copies in the previous week alone.

The high number has been attributed to Bad Bunny’s impressive streaming numbers. The album’s on-demand official streams totaling over 143.15 million.

With 11 weeks of selling 100,000 copies or more, the 28-year-old is officially the first artist to do so since Adele achieved 14 consecutive weeks with her 25 album six years ago.

Furthermore, Bad Bunny is giving Drake a run for his money. Views spent 17 weeks in the top two positions on the Billboard between May 21st and September 10th, 2016.

The “Moscow Mule” singer has reached 11 so far, and is on track to surpass the Encanto soundtrack for the most weeks at No. 1 in 2022. The two releases have nine and six weeks total, respectively.
